Yay! Fayre Tales on amazon! Check it out here. And only one day later than we had hoped. Next time we’ll do a better job reading the small print.
My book on amazon.com! I didn’t think I could even finish a book one year ago!
I told myself I had given up on wanting to write a book my senior year in high school after what I deemed a miserable writing failure. My life was not easy at the time. My abusive step-dad had kicked me out and I was living in a shed. At that point in my life I found it impossible to let my characters get into any conflict or even have flaws. My life was bad enough. I just couldn’t inflict that kind of pain on anyone else, even if they were imaginary.
Fayre Tales started out as an experiment. Mom had finally been able to escape Him and it felt like enough time had gone by to give it another go. Since I had done better with childrens’ stories in creative writing, I started Fayre Tales with more of a kiddy story in mind. I had even thought of illustrating it and posting a couple pages at a time, more like a daily comic type of thing.
The art part of it didn’t work out. I’m not a very consistent artist and I’ve never really had the desire to try to be more consistent.
So I just started writing.
I had a loose idea of what the plot was going to be, but once I got writing, the characters took it their own way. And I haven’t looked back. As the characters grew and got into more trouble, I’ve had to deal with a lot of issues of my own. As you go, there is more and more of my life infused into the story, especially in the third book. Let me tell you, if you have a hard time with conflict, it is extremely hard to write as the bad guy!
I made it through, and I’m very proud of what I was able to do. I wrote a book! Good things do come out of bad circumstances and roses are hardier than they seem.
Have a great day! Don’t forget to check out Fayre Tales on amazon.com here!
